🌸 Mindfulness and Journalling 🌸

Sunday, September 28, 2025

Hey everyone, it’s Marli 👋

So, I just started journalling 📓 as a way to practice mindfulness. Honestly, it’s kinda tricky because I’m not used to writing down my feelings. Most of the time, my thoughts just swirl around in my head and I can’t find the right words to explain them. But I’m giving it a go ✍️. I wanted a place where I could stop for a minute, reflect on what’s been happening in life, and actually see my words, thoughts, and feelings written down. Sometimes just seeing it on paper makes it feel a little less overwhelming.

Right now, I’m starting slow – like writing once a week 📓. It’s not much, but it feels like a good way to ease myself in. I’m hoping that over time I’ll build up to journalling every day, so it becomes a habit, kind of like brushing my teeth or gaming every night 😅. I think once it becomes part of my routine, it’ll feel way more natural, and I won’t have to force myself to sit down and write – I’ll just want to do it. 🌱

💡 Benefits of Journalling

I’ve been reading a bit about mindfulness and journalling 📓, and it turns out there are actually heaps of benefits:

  • It helps clear my head when everything feels messy or stressful 🌀

  • Writing things down makes it easier to untangle my emotions and understand how I’m really feeling 💭

  • It’s like a safe, private space to be totally honest with myself (no judgement zone 🙌)

  • Looking back on old entries is kind of cool – you get to see how much you’ve grown or how your thoughts have changed over time 📖

  • It can help reduce stress, calm your mind, and make you feel more grounded 🌸

Plus, it’s creative! You can doodle, decorate, or even write like it’s a story 🎨

I’m not perfect at it yet, and sometimes I still stare at the page not knowing what to write. But I figure even writing a couple of sentences is better than nothing. The more I keep at it, the more natural it’ll feel. Journalling 📓 doesn’t have to be fancy or “right” – it just has to be real.

Do any of you journal 📓? What’s your favourite thing about it? Or if you’ve been thinking of starting, what would you want your first entry to be about? 💕
