🌿 Marli’s Blog: Mental Health Tips 🧠💬
Hey everyone 👋
It’s time to talk about Mental Health — a really important thing to remind ourselves (and each other) that how we feel inside matters just as much as how we feel on the outside.
Mental health can affect the way we think, feel, and act every day. It can be a mix of ups and downs — and that’s totally okay. Some days are harder than others, but learning little ways to look after ourselves can make a big difference. Here are some tips that I’ve found helpful, and maybe they’ll help you too 👇
💬 1. Talk it out — don’t keep it all inside
Keeping everything bottled up can make our minds feel like a shaken-up soda can 🥤💥 Eventually, it bursts. Talking to someone you trust — like a friend, parent, teacher, counsellor, or even a helpline — can help release some of that pressure.
You don’t need to have the “perfect words” to explain how you feel. Even just saying “I’m not okay right now” is a strong first step. You matter, and your feelings are real 💚
🧘 2. Take breaks when your brain needs a breather
Life can feel overwhelming sometimes — with school, friends, family, and everything else. Taking a break doesn’t mean you’re weak; it means you care about your wellbeing.
A break could be:
Going for a walk outside 🚶
Listening to your favourite songs 🎧
Drawing or journalling ✍️
Just lying down and breathing slowly 🌬️
Even 5 minutes can help your mind reset and calm down.
📝 3. Write it down — your thoughts matter
Journalling has really helped me. Sometimes I don’t even know how I feel until I start writing. Putting your thoughts down on paper can help make them less confusing and more manageable.
You can write full sentences, doodle, make lists, or even scribble random words — it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s for you, not anyone else 💭📓
🤝 4. Surround yourself with good energy
Who you spend time with can have a huge impact on how you feel. Try to be around people who make you feel safe, accepted, and supported. True friends are the ones who listen, make you laugh, and don’t judge you.
And remember — it’s okay to set boundaries with people who don’t make you feel good. You deserve kindness and respect 💕
🌸 5. Be kind to yourself, always
It’s so easy to be our own worst critic. But the truth is, we’re all just trying to figure things out. Some days you’ll feel great, and some days… not so much. That’s normal.
Instead of beating yourself up, try saying something kind to yourself:
“I’m doing my best.”
“It’s okay to not be okay.”
“I matter.”
Little reminders like that can make a big difference ✨
🧠 6. Asking for help = strength, not weakness
Needing support doesn’t make you weak — it makes you human. If things ever feel too heavy to handle on your own, it’s absolutely okay to reach out for help. There are people who truly want to support you.
In Australia 🇦🇺, if you need someone to talk to:
Lifeline Australia 📞 13 11 14
Kids Helpline 📞 1800 55 1800

Even a single conversation or the right resource can be the start of feeling lighter 💬💚
🌸 Final thought 🌸
Mental health isn’t about being “happy” all the time. It’s about learning to care for yourself through the ups and downs. You’re not alone and there is always someone who cares and wants to listen.
Let’s keep talking about mental health, supporting each other, and making it okay to not be okay 💚✨
